Mark Talucci (CEO) and Todd Elliott (President), founded The SAK
in 1989 with a singular handbag, created from a unique fabrication.
The immediate success of this bag revealed a great demand in the
marketplace for accessories crafted from unique textiles. Encouraged,
they began developing distinctive, richly textured weaves, and,
in 1994, launched The SAK's signature fabrication, Tightweave. This
exclusive textile, designed into modern handbag/purse shapes, garnered
a tremendous following, and propelled the The SAK to become the
fourth largest handbag/purse company in the United States.
Today, The SAK originates a wide range of inimitable textiles
including leather, suede, canvas, straw, rattan, and wood bead,
and has evolved from a handbag company, to an accessories, lifestyle
brand. The SAK handbags/purses are sold in over 1900 department
and specialty stores throughout the United States, and in 22 international
markets.
